Trade Fair

The Chamber participated at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized Lagos International Trade Fair, held at the Trade Fair Complex along Lagos Badagry Expressway between 5th and 14th November, 2010.

The NBCC Day was held on 10th November, 2010. The special guest of honour was Mr. Robin Gwynn, the British Deputy High Commissioner, while Mr. Duro Lakanu the Deputy President, represented the President, Mr. Akinola Akintunde who was unavoidably absent.

Trade Exhibition & Investment Conference

The Chamber in collaboration with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) organized a Trade Exhibition & Investment Conference in UK between 22nd and 27th November, 2010. The Exhibitions were held in the cities of London, Birmingham and Coventry.

At the Investment Conference and opening of exhibition held in London on Tuesday 23rd November, 2010, the Acting Nigeria High Commissioner, Ambassador Dozie Nwanna, OON, and Minister of Commerce and Industry, Senator Jubril Martins Kuye as well as many other dignitaries from Nigeria and Britain were in attendance.

Certificates of participation were presented to the participants at the end of the event in Coventry, while Mrs. Elizabeth Oluwalana a researcher from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta won the most innovative Award Certificate.

Staff Moment

The Chamber has engaged a new Director General with effect from 1st November, 2010. He is Mr. Sola Obadimu. Until this employment, Mr. Obadimu was the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian-South Africa Chamber of Commerce which he pioneered. A seasoned administrator and commentator on national issues, Mr. Obadimu brings to the Chamber a wealth of experience garnered from such similar organizations as the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Institute of Directors.

Meanwhile, Mr. Clement Adewale Adetarami has resigned from the service of the Chamber, effective 8th December, 2010. He was the Membership and Business Development Officer.
